Lifestyle medicine is rapidly growing branch of medicine that is evidenced-based and person centered. It brings together the commonsense approach that has been missing in modern management of chronic health.

Lifestyle medicine is both preventative and a treatment for most of the mental and physical health conditions of our modern times.

Lifestyle Medicine is a regulated branch of medicine set up by the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM) and focuses on the 6 key pillars of; healthy eating, mental wellbeing, physical activity, healthy relationships, sleep and minimizing harmful substances. When these are in ‘balance’ in your life then your body’s systems can start to auto correct and function at their optimum leading to you feeling at your best.

Lifestyle Medicine is increasingly being integrated into NHS practice and has been set up and is regulated by the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine.

‘Lifestyle Medicine is evidence-based, clinical care that supports behaviour change through person-centered techniques to improve mental wellbeing, social connection, healthy eating, physical activity, sleep and minimisation of harmful substances and behaviours.’

Health = Wholeness

We can’t be healthy on our own – we need connection to our community, nature and something bigger than ourselves, but…
