We are all part of nature!
This is not something that many people feel intuitively anymore. We often feel separate from and who could blame us when we live in houses, work in offices, travel in cars and barely spend any time outside!
Nature is who we are and we function at a higher level when we are immersed in green and blue spaces. For example, just using our peripheral vision, such as when walking outside in nature, has been shown to cause our sympathetic nervous system to down regulate reducing the bodies stress response.
Reconnecting with nature puts us back in touch with ourselves and helps us feel part of something bigger than ourselves. This kind of connection can help us to feel safer and like we have more purpose.
We are also developing a more diverse microbiome when we are outside, especially if we are getting our hands dirty by gardening.
Lifestyle First puts connection with nature as a central pillar in establishing optimum health.
