Bronwyn – Somatics Movement Teacher

Having been active playing sport all her life, over the years she was gradually moving into increasing pain – diagnosed with mild scoliosis, functional leg length discrepancy and asthma. Having tried everything to relieve pain she found Hanna Method of Somatics. Having experienced first-hand real change in improving her posture and movement, now pain and asthma free, she was inspired to study Clinical Somatic Education to share this profound method.

As a Certified Essential Somatics® Movement Teacher with 5 years of experience in movement and education, her other qualifications include Somatic Movement Center® Instructor Level 3 and ACS Human Biology of Muscle and Movement. She is currently in training as a Somatics Clinical Practitioner.

She works from her private clinic in Kelso, the Scottish Borders, focusing on individual clients and small groups to enable them long-term, pain free improvement and change.

Experienced in working with adults all suffering pain caused by dysfunctional muscular patterns and habitual movement, spurred her on to develop a program to work with the other end of the age spectrum – children. Using her knowledge of the science behind the structure and function of the body/brain, and how the cortex and subcortex dictates our movement patterns, she designed a fun to teach Somatics for Kids program. Her mission is to educate and empower young children with the building blocks to grow up being internally aware and self-regulating in how their body feels and moves.

Bronwyn’s previous background to Somatics was Hospitality Management and Marketing in the Far East, Middle East and Scottish Borders.
