Rachel – Advisor and Researcher

Rachel is an experienced secondary school teacher with over 20 years of expertise, specialising in Psychology and Sociology. Currently serving as an Associate Assistant Head, she is responsible for supporting trainee and early career teachers, fostering their growth and development in the profession.

Her career includes nine years with a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provider, where she played a pivotal role in designing and delivering training programmes. Rachel also oversaw trainee pastoral care, with a particular focus on mental health and well-being, ensuring the trainees felt supported and prepared for the challenges of teaching.

A self-proclaimed proud geek, Rachel’s love of learning and passion for educational research stem from her strong psychology background. Her work with Lifestyle First reflects her enthusiasm for combining psychology, well-being strategies, research, and professional development to create impactful and sustainable changes.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoys cooking and experimenting with healthy recipes to share with her family. As a mother of two young children, she places a high value on keeping them active, spending weekends on family walks or supporting their activities, including rugby and climbing. For Rachel, the blend of personal and professional passion for well-being drives her commitment to helping others lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
