The lifestyle first partners

The British Society of Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM) is the UK's leading organisation for evidence-based lifestyle medicine, bringing together clinicians, educators, and health professionals who are committed to improving wellbeing through healthy habits, and behaviour change. As a national charity, BSLM sets the standard for lifestyle-medicine training and supports organisations that want to embed wellbeing into everyday practice.

Lifestyle First are proud to partner with BSLM, combining their scientific expertise with our practical experience in schools. Dan leads this collaboration as the Head of the BSLM Schools Special Interest Group, shaping how lifestyle-medicine principles can be translated into meaningful, age-appropriate learning.

Across our wider team, some of our Lifestyle First experts also play an active role within BSLM. Together, we've built a high-quality learning platform and PSHE curriculum that gives schools the confidence, clarity and evidence-based guidance they need to support pupil wellbeing, staff health and support to parents and carers.

The UKIHCA is the leading professional body for Health Coaches in the UK and internationally. Their members are fully qualified, credentialed professionals who meet rigorous training and practice standards. The organisation champions a self-empowered population, believing that everyone has the capacity to improve their own health when given time, support and the right tools.

They promote a whole-health approach — considering physical, emotional, social, environmental and purpose-driven wellbeing—and place collaboration, respect and non-judgement at the heart of all coaching relationships. The UKIHCA is dedicated to raising awareness of health coaching, advancing professional standards, approving high-quality training programmes, and supporting the ongoing development of Health Coaches across all sectors.

Lifestyle First is proud to partner with the UKIHCA to drive a shared mission: increasing the number of skilled, accredited Health Coaches working in schools. Together, we're building a movement that brings evidence-based behaviour-change support into education, helping pupils and staff thrive through better wellbeing, healthier habits and empowered choices.

Xavier CET is a growing family of Catholic schools committed to providing an excellent education that helps every child become the best version of themselves. With 17 primary schools and 4 secondary schools, their mission is rooted in enabling each pupil to realise their calling and make a positive difference in the world. Their values of contagious enthusiasm, commitment to excellence and unconditional love shape everything they do.

Lifestyle First has been proud to work closely with Xavier CET to bring this mission to life through a whole-school approach to wellbeing. Over the past 2 years, we have supported the MAT in embedding lifestyle-medicine principles across their primary schools including training student Health Coaches, trialling our curriculum and creating a range of wellbeing campaigns that have become part of daily school culture.

We have launched initiatives such as 'Disconnect to Connect', the Ten-Minute Mile, Food Committees, and 'Fresh Air, Fresh Mind', all designed to help pupils build healthy habits, strengthen relationships and grow in confidence. This partnership has also led to the introduction of the Lifestyle First Award, celebrating schools that champion wellbeing and empower children to thrive.

Through this collaboration, Xavier's commitment to excellence is matched with practical, evidence-based tools that help pupils feel known, supported and inspired enabling them to flourish academically, emotionally and spiritually.
